Susan Haydel

Susan Mavourneen Crowe Haydel passed away on November 20, 2022 at
the age of 79. She is a native of Storrs, CT and a resident of Mandeville, LA.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Haydel, sister, Judith Talbot of
Thousand Oaks, CA., and niece and nephew Kimberly Crowe and Jeffrey
Evarts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Brown Crowe and
James Emmett Crowe as well as brother-in-law Gary Talbot.
Susan was very spiritual and was “Born with a veil, a special child of God".
As such she had a positive impact on many she met in her life.
As a child she was an accomplished equestrian. Later she became an
excellent snow skier. As a young woman she thought nothing of getting in
her cherished Triumph TR6 with the top down and her dog along and
traveling from one end of the country to the other, maybe stopping and
staying for a while in some place she particularly admired.
She excelled at all of her varied and eclectic career endeavors. These
included several skilled medical field and executive assistant positions in
various parts of the country, as well as real estate sales and property
management among others.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Richard, and visited many parts of
Europe, the Far East, Mexico, Hawaii and most of the United States. Of
course, the regular runs with her husband to the Mississippi coast casinos
were always highly anticipated. Truism: Free rooms at the casinos are not
really free!!
Susan was extremely well read and a voracious reader, reading the morning
paper and Wall Street Journal every day as well as devouring 3 to 4 novels a
week. And she was quite the fashion diva. She would not consider even
going to the grocery store unless her outfit was perfectly matched, hat
included many times.
Susan was particularly fond of the special power lunches and birthday
lunches she attended with her special friends. Yes, that’s you Ginger, Dot,
Julia, Annette, Debbie and Karen. She loved you all.

Susan exemplified the term "classy lady" . She was highly intelligent,
cultured, spoke the King’s English, was kind, funny, witty, generous, caring,
and loving.
She touched everyone who came in contact with her. She will be missed.
