Steven Waguespack

d. October 17, 2020

With deepest sorrow we announce that our beloved Son, Father, Brother, Family Member, and Friend, Steven Cody Waguespack, joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the young age of 29. Cody was born in Covington, Louisiana on August 19, 1991.

Cody will be missed daily by his parents, Steven Miles Waguespack and step-mother Carol Anne Waguespack, his mother Yvette Rene Morgan, his two sons, Easton Wyatt Waguespack and Grayson Ryder Waguespack, his siblings;  John Ellis Dillon (Dawn), Kristin Louise Dillon, and Ashley Nicole Waguespack, his grandparents; Grace Diane Morgan, Wanda Louise Dillon, Edwina Catherine Waguespack and grandfather, Alwyn Sonny Waguespack, as well as his nieces, Makayla Anne Dillon, Breella Nicole Dillon, Addison Marie Dillon, and Nephews Joshua Akeem Dillon, John Ellis Dillon, Jr. and all of his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many great friends.

Cody accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior asking him to come into his heart at the age of 6. Two of his favorite scriptures were:

Matthew 22:37-38 Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment

Psalms 119:105-112 (Highlighted in Cody’s Bible on December 2, 2019)

Your word is a lamp for my feet,

A light on my path.

I have taken an oath and confirmed it,

That I will follow your righteous laws.

I have suffered much;

Preserved my life, O Lord the willing praise of my mouth,

And teach me your laws.

Though I constantly take my life in my hands,

I will not forget your law.

The wicked have set a snare for me,

But I have not strayed from your precepts.

Your statues are my heritage forever;

They are the joy of my heart.

My heart is set on keeping your decrees

To the very end.

Cody’s most treasured thing on this earth was his relationship with his children. Easton and Grayson, you two were not only his best friends, but his whole world. Family meant the world to Cody, especially his amazing, unbreakable bond with his siblings. Cody was free spirit with a kind and compassionate heart. The memories of his courageous smile and infectious laugh will be in our hearts forever. We know that Cody’s grandfathers John David Dillon, Jr. and William Spike Morgan were waiting for him at the gates of Heaven and he is loved in Heaven as much as he is on Earth. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, October 26, 2020 in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
