On Sunday, May 3, 2020, Mae W. Michon, was called home to our Heavenly Father. After months of emotional and physical struggle, Mae now joins her lifelong soulmate and beloved husband of over 52 years, Mr. Louis F. Michon, Sr. who preceded her a short time ago. Mae was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, married to Louis Sr. and raised three children. Mae traveled to various destinations in support of her loving husband. Mae was a lifelong caregiver, a volunteer, a home maker, and a fantastic cook who often fed anyone who came to her door. Mae was a loving and generous woman who donated her life to make people happy. She touched the lives of many through her cooking, recipes, holiday decorating and crafting abilities. Mae is survived by her children, Louis F. Michon, Jr. (Gwen), Melissa A. Michon-Martinez and Marguerite “Rita” Michon-Gilliland (Mike). “Ganny”, so affectionately called, is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Shannon, Micaela, Michael, Maddison, EJ, Jason, Sophia, Cory and Tyler as well as 1 great-grandchild, Naomi. She will be sadly missed by Aunt Gloria (Warren), Uncle Hardie, her neighbor’s and many friends of the Slidell Newcomer’s Club including her closest friend Mrs. Caroline Watt. A private ceremony will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
