Leon "Buck" Smith

The Lord peacefully called Leon “Buck” Smith, a resident of Lacombe, Louisiana, home on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was 71 years of age.

Buck was born in 1950 to his loving parents, the late Ray and Marjorie Smith. He is survived by his son, Joseph Scott Smith and wife Kelley, Grandchildren Tyler, Blaine, Ryan, and Emma Welch of Slidell. He was also the proud Great Grandpa to Jaxson Patterson Welch. His brothers, Dr. Danny Ray Smith (Kathy), & Terry Joe Smith (Rhonda), and a sister Rhonda Faye Smith. He is also survived by Nieces & Nephews Kristen Smith, Caleb Smith, Jennifer DeGraw (Jason), Justin Smith(Brittany), Cameron Smith, Tristan Smith, Krystale Sledge (Ashley) and several great nieces and nephews.

Buck is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra K. Smith, and an infant son Shawn J. Smith.  Parents, Ray and Marjorie Smith, a nephew, Hunter Brent Sledge, Grandparents Leon and Trudia Mullen, and Kirby and Nelly Smith.

In his early years, Buck worked at various entertainment establishments in the New Orleans French Quarter. He enjoyed sharing his adventurous stories with his friends and family. He retired as a cab driver and was an avid member of the Lions Club in Mandeville, LA.

A graveside service will be held at his final resting place at Enon Baptist Church in Enon, Mississippi on Monday, September 20th at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to a local Lions Club.
