Leah Lang

d. February 4, 2021

Leah Marie Lang, age 64, was born July 23, 1956 a few minutes after her twin, Rose.

She left us for her place in Heaven on February 4, 2021 where she was greeted by the loving arms of Jesus, her parents, Virgil J Lang (Bill) and Aldera Arno Lang (Deedie), her sister Rose Lang Jenkins and grandparents, Oliver Virgil and Harriet Lang and Francois and Marguerite Arno.

Leah was always the peaceful sister in a family of 6 children.  She knew she was loved.  She was the fun aunt.

Leah graduated from Ponchatoula High School.  After completing courses for computer technician, she went to work for the State of Louisiana, retiring 30 years later as a supervisor in the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.  She and Rose also delighted in caring for children at various churches from Covington to Baton Rouge.

Shortly after retirement, she was in a car accident which left her ankle crushed, many surgeries and lots of rehab.  Through the last 10 years of her life, she was unfailingly thankful for the medical professionals who cared for her.

She enjoyed family celebrations and quiet time.  Her nieces, Amber Porta, Victoria Lang, Brittany Pellow (Edward) and nephews, Derek Lang, Cory Lang, Kevin Wrinkles and Kyle Wrinkles were her joy.  She so loved her great nephew, Logan Porta and her great niece, Caroline Pellow.

For many years, Leah was a member of a Church of the King small group where she was loved by many friends.

She is survived by her sisters, Lucretia Lang Williams, Shannon Lang and her brothers and sisters-in-law Christopher and Sheri Lang and Dallas and Chey Lang.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
