August Joseph “Joe” Condon of Covington, Louisiana passed away on January 2, 2022 at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Giusti Condon, his children, Bryan Joseph Condon (Joan), Angela Marie Williams (John), Scott Joseph Condon (Loralee), eight grandchildren, Bryan, Benjamin, Cassidy, Cory, Kevin, Melanie, Erica, Kelsey. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Jackson, Reid, Elizabeth, Savannah, Sutton, Austin and his siblings, Alva Navarre, Joel English (Lloyd) and brother Raymond Condon (Lois), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, August Condon and Onelia Condon as well as his four sisters, Marguerite, Lois, Euna and Elaine,
Joe was born in New Orleans, La. And was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and Diamondhead, Ms. Before relocating to Covington, La. following Hurricane Katrina.
Joe graduated from St. Aloysius High School then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was an Airman 1st Class, serving in the Korean war. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
After returning home, Joe married the love of his life, JoAnn Giusti in 1960. He had a long and distinguished career at AT&T where he was loved and respected by many. He retired after 40 years to spend time with his beloved family and friends. He loved camping and his beautiful gardens, dancing with his wife and anyone who was willing and able, and cheering on his LSU Tigers.
Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Thursday January 6, 2022 in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:30 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date in the St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
