William Wayne Marange

William Wayne Marange, lovingly known to his family and friends as “Wayne,” passed away on March 11, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 84.Wayne was born on August 13, 1941, in Mandeville, Louisiana, and was a lifelong resident of the Northshore area. He was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army.Wayne was the beloved husband of Helen Marie Lavigne Marange, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership since their marriage on April 6, 1964. Together, they built a strong and devoted family.

Wayne found joy in life's simple pleasures—fishing, RV camping, and race cars—but above all, he cherished the time spent with his family. No matter what hobby or interest he pursued, Wayne always made sure to include his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories with those he loved most.He and his wife Helen also shared time together as vendors at the Lafitte Street Market, where they enjoyed selling homemade crafts and baked goods and connecting with their community.Wayne will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael W. Marange; his parents, Cyril Noe Marange and Edna Rita Marange; his brothers, Cyril J. Marange, Hebert J. Marange, James F. Marange, Andrew L. Marange, Robert A. Marange, and Kenneth N. Marange; and his sisters, Iris G. Marange Motichek (Homas), Constance R. Marange, and Linda L. Marange Howell (Carrol).

He is survived by the love of his life, Helen Marie Lavigne Marange; his sons, Anthony W. Marange, Ricky W. Lewis, Daniel A. Lewis, and Bradley J. Marange (Jalia). He is also survived by his brothers, Henry R. Marange (Geraldine), Joseph C. Marange (Sharon), and Gervais N. Marange. He also leaves behind a large and loving family of grandchildren: Michael Marange, Morgan Marange, Taylor Marange, Lucinda Conrad (Carbon), Anthony Howell, Logan Pledger, Kylee West, Andrew Lewis, Kaycee Lewis Smith (Nevin), Sage Lewis, Thorn Marange, Trent Marange, Cade Falcon, Ty Falcon, and Jaleigh Marange. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Logan Marange, Chloe Marange, Collin Marange, Rhylie Schmalz, Landon West, and Dante Howell.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on March 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Theodore Dendinger Sr. Memorial Cemetery, 151 LA-21, Madisonville, Louisiana.
