William "Bill" Richard Rossignol

October 23, 1942 — October 21, 2025

Covington, Louisiana

William "Bill" Richard Rossignol, a beloved figure in his community and a pillar of strength for his family, passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 82 in Covington, Louisiana. Born on October 23, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Bill was a man who relished the joys of family life and the comforts of home, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

Bill will be fondly remembered as a devoted husband to his wife, Sandra Julian Rossignol, for 58 years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter and cherished memories, supporting one another through thick and thin. He was a nurturing father to his daughter, Rachel Vogt (Mike) , and son, Billy Rossignol (Kelly), instilling values of kindness, perseverance, and humor in their lives. His grandchildren—Blair Rossignol Mann (Austin), Brooke Vogt, Michael Vogt, Trey Rossignol, and Blake Rossignol—brought him indescribable joy, and he took great pride in being affectionately called Papere by them. Each moment spent with his family was a treasure.

A dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet, Louisiana, as well as having served in the U.S. Navy, Bill's commitment to his faith and community was unwavering. Even after Hurricane Katrina displaced him, he found a new home in the north shore community at St. Jane de Chantal. His involvement in the Knights of Columbus at St. Jane de Chantal Council 12529 profoundly deepened his faith. He established new friendships and will be remembered best through his fundraising initiatives, golf tournaments and the popular Friday Fish Fry organized by the Knights of Columbus. These contributions not only exemplified his devotion to service but also highlighted his ability to bring people together in celebration and camaraderie.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his sister, Dorothy Clear. He joins his departed family members, including his father, Hubert Rossignol; mother, Dorothy Rossignol; sister, Katheryn McElroy; and brother, Daniel Rossignol, in eternal rest, where they will undoubtedly guide him with love and warmth.

As we reflect on the life of such a remarkable man, we are reminded of his spirit, which was characterized by generosity, love for family, and an everlasting commitment to his community. Bill leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories woven with the threads of love, laughter, and service, serving as a reminder to all who knew him of the important roles family and community play in a fulfilling life. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him, ensuring that his memory lives on eternally in the hearts of his loved ones.
