Virginia (Ginger) Elizabeth Finley, a beloved mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away on April 24, 2025. Daughter of Virginia (Ginny) Miller and William P Finley. Ginger was a vibrant soul, deeply committed to her family, her students, and the joys of life. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication will be remembered by all who knew her.
Born and raised in Lake Charles, LA, and lived most of her life in Covington and Mandeville, Ginger spent her life sharing her love of learning, food, and adventure with those around her. She was a passionate early childhood educator who dedicated over 30 years to teaching and shaping the young minds of countless students in St. Tammany Parish.
A lover of family and fine food, Ginger was known for hosting lively gatherings where everyone felt welcome. Whether it was a family holiday feast or a spontaneous party with friends, she always ensured there was plenty of delicious food, drinks, laughter, and joy. Her infectious smile and joyful spirit created the perfect atmosphere for unforgettable moments of connection and fun.
Above all, Ginger was a devoted mother to her two children and a doting grandmother to her grandchild, who she adored and loved to spoil. Ginger is survived by Tommy Harmon, Jr (Buster), Jason Harmon (Meredith), Grandson Luke Harmon and brother William (Billy) P Finley Jr. (Heather).
