Vilma A
Anding
Mar 1, 1937 — Aug 8, 2026
New Orleans
On the eighth of August 2026, Vilma A. Anding passed away peacefully at home. She will be remembered by all those who were touched by her in life.
Born in Puerto Cortes, Honduras to Angel Pastor Zelaya and Angela Pastor Hernandez on the first of March, 1937. Vilma's early life was spent surrounded by family. Instilling in her a sense of community and duty, as well as the ability to cook enough to feed an army.
Vilma enjoyed the peace of working in her garden; surrounded by the smells of fresh flowers, the buzz of insects, and the bright colors of life springing anew from what was once just bare dirt. She also enjoyed cooking; seeing the eyes of her loved one light up by the sights and smells on the plate before them, and then seeing the contentment of those she cared most deeply for. Most of all she loved caring for her grandchildren.
In death Vilma A. Anding is reunited with her parents: Angel Pastor Zelaya and Angela Pastor Hernandez; her brothers: Gustavo Pastor, Luis Alfonzo Pastor, and Oscar R. Pastor; and her beloved husband, William T. Anding Jr.
Vilma is remembered by her beloved children: Debbie Ella Anding-Keethler (Michael), William T. Anding III, and Elaine Denise Huddell (Kevin); her grandchildren who so lit up her life: William Keethler, Emma Keethler, Sarah Amelia Huddell, and Ana Beatrice Huddell; as well as all those whose lives she touched, whether in the hospitals in which she worked, or in her day-to-day life.
