Tommie Jean Skrintney

 Tommie Jean Skrintney, 79 years, of Covington, LA went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2023 at Heritage Manor in Mandeville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Nel Dyer, and survived by countless friends and neighbors, and her beloved viszla, Ready. She was a member of Dove Park Church in Covington. She was a seamstress who worked at The Toggery Shop in Covington, sewed for friends and made intricate quilts for fund raising auctions. Tommie spent over 40 years showing her beautiful Vizslas throughout the country, first in Conformation, then Obedience and Agility. Tommie trained and showed her dogs to many AKC Titles, finally finishing her show career with Mach Sr’s Caught Ya’ Red Handed MXS, MJJ, XF, T2B, ie. READY. She cared for several households and families for many years including the Kergosien family who is very grateful for the love and care she gave them over the last 18 years. A memorial service will be held at Dove Park Church of God, 925 Grey Lane, Covington, LA on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Vizsla Club of America Welfare Foundation (vcaweb.org).
