Timothy David Duncan (72) was born on March 16, 1954, and passed away at his home in Isabel on August 16, 2026, at 1225 am. Tim has been a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, LA. He was a member of Isabel Baptist Church through spiritual baptism on June 4, 2006.
He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Tammy Sharp Duncan; two daughters, Kristi (Joey) Galloway and Amy Duncan; and two grandchildren, Savannah and Joseph Galloway, who were the apples of his eye.
A brother, Barry (Cindie) Duncan, and a sister, Denise (Bud) Boone. And a niece, Jessica, and nephews, Robert Duncan, Steve Price Jr., Michael, Kenneth, and Walter Wall.
Preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Bobbie Duncan, and a nephew, Donald McNabb.
Tim worked for the state of Louisiana for 17 years in the Dept. of Public Safety & Corrections at Dixon Correctional Institute, Louisiana State Penitentiary (Angola), and Rayburn Correctional Center. Unable to complete a 20-year retirement due to job injuries, he was forced to leave correctional work. This opened the door to a dream he had when younger; he enrolled in college.
In the fall of 1996, he started college at Southeastern Louisiana University. He completed his bachelor's degree in May of 2000, Magna Cum Laude, and was honored as a member of the Thirteen Club and for proficiency in English and Mathematics.
In the fall of 2000, he continued his education, majoring in Psychology, and enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He completed the most challenging aspect of graduate school: the required thesis, on the topic “Self-concept and beliefs about the negative consequences of smoking”. He achieved his Master of Science in Psychology degree in August 2002.
After earning his master's degree, he returned to work for the state of LA as a case manager at the Office of Child & Family Services. Then, in 2014, he retired from the state of LA after 30 years.
He had a home service following his passing with immediate family and Pastor Mike Landry.
Timothy was loved as much as he loved his family and will be dearly missed. Until we meet again, may we find comfort in knowing that we will see you again when we, too, are with the Lord.
There will be a graveside service on September 5th at 10 am at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, followed by fellowship at Isabel Baptist Church. Tim’s family and friends are warmly welcomed to join us as we remember and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, anyone can donate to Isabel Baptist Church in memory of its member, Timothy.
