Tillie Rose Porter, born on September 20, 1931, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana. She lived a full life marked by love, dedication, and a variety of interests that enriched both herself and those around her.
Tillie was known for many things throughout her life. She was a devoted and loving mother who always put her family first. She worked as a dental assistant, showing care and attention to others every day. Later, she pursued a career in real estate, where she helped many find their homes. Beyond her professions, she had a deep passion for cooking and interior design. These hobbies brought joy to her and allowed her to create warm and welcoming spaces filled with character.
Tillie was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Bernard Lee Porter Sr.; her parents, Bernard Louis Wahden Sr. and Rosalie Carey Wahden; and her brother Bernard Louis Wahden Jr. as well as her sister-in-law Linda Wahden.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Peggy Porter Castle (Fred), Bernard Lee Porter Jr. (Dianne), and Michael Porter. Her grandchildren, Nicholas Walker (Rodrigo), Joshua Graffagnini (Haley), Bernard Lee Porter III, and Christine Porter, as well as her great-grandchildren, Grayson Graffagnini and Leighton Graffagnini, continue to cherish her memory and the warmth she brought into their lives.
A visitation to remember Tillie Rose Porter will be held on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, located at 75212 Lee Rd, Covington, Louisiana. This will be followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
Tillie’s life was one of kindness, creativity, and devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew her and the many ways she touched their lives. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all.
