Tasso "TJ" Julius Taylor Jr., a dedicated and beloved family man, passed away on May 16, 2025, in Covington, Louisiana. Born on January 24, 1942, in Folsom, Louisiana, TJ lived a life marked by hard work, commitment to his craft, and profound connections with his family and friends.
As a self-employed electrician, TJ made significant contributions to his community through his expertise and unwavering dedication to service. His commitment to quality and integrity earned him a reputation as a trusted professional, a status he cherished throughout his career. He also worked with his sister and late brother-in-law, Troy and Alice Corkern, at Corkern A/C, Heating, and Electric as an electrician for 20+ years.
TJ was a proud father to his sons, Donovan W. Taylor (Dawn) and Tasso "Tiger" Taylor III (Liz), both of whom carry forward his legacy. His affection for his grandchildren was evident in the joy they brought him, and he is survived by Tasso Taylor IV (Amy), Jessica Taylor Farris (Brandon), Donovan T. Taylor, and Layla Taylor. TJ was also a loving great-grandfather to Sarah Kinchen, Mary Kinchen, Ava Taylor, and Allie Taylor, who will fondly remember his warmth and guidance.
He is survived by his sisters, Alice Taylor Corkern and Shirley Primes, as well as his sisters-in-law, Darlene "Dottie" Adams Taylor, Ann Reon Taylor, and brother-in-law Bruce Oswald. TJ leaves behind a vast network of nieces, nephews, and beloved family members who will deeply miss his presence.
TJ was predeceased by several important figures in his life; he shared a lasting bond with his longtime loving companion, Sherry Carey. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Mary Anthony Taylor and Tasso Taylor Sr., and his brothers, Sam Taylor Sr., James Taylor, along with his sister, Gayle Taylor Oswald, and brothers-in-law, Troy Corkern and Donald Primes.
Those who knew Tasso "TJ" Julius Taylor Jr. will remember him for his professional dedication but also for his love for family and friends, which was the cornerstone of his life. A devoted family man and respected member of his community, TJ's legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
