Suzanne Margaret Menendez (née Chambless), born on October 10, 1940, in New Orleans, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on July 9, 2026, in Mandeville, Louisiana.
A life defined by deep devotion to family and loved ones, Suzanne leaves behind a legacy marked by warmth and enduring bonds. She was the beloved mother of Eduardo Menendez, who survives her, and the late Reed Menendez. Her family circle extends to her devoted daughters-in-law, Nicole Menendez and Maria Benigna Coto. Suzanne’s influence lives on in her grandchildren: Jose Luis Menendez, Miguel Menendez, and Cristina Menendez Coto, each of whom carries forward her memory with pride and affection.
Suzanne was cherished by her brothers, Tom Chambless and Donald Chambless, both of whom, along with their respective spouses Maureen and Linda Chambless, survive her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Generoso Menendez, whose partnership enriched many years of her life. Suzanne also grieved the losses of her mother, Marguerite Lucille Chambless, and father, Thomas Jordan Chambless, both of whom shaped her early years with unwavering support and guidance.
Throughout her remarkable 85 years, Suzanne’s life was marked by meaningful connections and steadfast loyalty to her family and friends.
