Susan Marshall Bergeron

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Susan Marshall Bergeron on February 22, 2026 at 10:15 PM. She will be dearly missed.

Susan Marshall Bergeron was born to Donald Lawrence Marshall Sr. and Bettie May Berlin on the 26th of February 1952. Her childhood in the mountains engendered a fascination with geology and love of nature that served her well in future endeavors. Joining her in her childhood adventures were her brothers Donald Marshall Jr. and Lee B. Marshall; as well as her sisters Barbara Kirkconnel (Robert) and Jolene Marshall.

Susan came to settle down in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana to work as a petroleum geologist and it is here that the garden of her life would flourish. She and Dennis A. Bergeron III would come to raise 2 wonderful children, David Lawrence Bergeron (Rachel) and Daniel Arthur Bergeron (Breanna) Her family grew again with the addition of her grandchildren, Kaeden Bergeron as well as twins Gavin and Beekley Bergeron. 

Faith was an important part of Susan's life, driving her to volunteer as the St. Martin's Episcopal Church. Her love of nature and gardening also drove her to go back to school to become a certified horticulturist. 

In death, Susan joins her parents, Donald Lawrence Marshall Sr. and Bettie May Berlin as well as her brother-in-law Robert B. Kirkconnel. She is survived by her husband, Dennis A. Bergeron III; her children David and Daniel; as well as her Grandchildren Kaeden, Gavin, and Beekley. 

A visitation for Susan Bergeron will be held at the St. Martin's Episcopal Church on the 13th of March, 2026 at 10:00 AM with mass to follow. The church is located at 2216 Metairie Rd. Metairie, Louisiana.
