Sheryl Landry Henderson

Sheryl Landry Henderson, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Mandeville, Louisiana, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children, grandchildren, and closest friends.

Sheryl was born on March 13, 1947, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Carlton Landry and Helen Porche Landry.

She was married to the love of her life, James Brady Henderson, who preceded her in death. Together they shared many wonderful years in Pass Christian, Mississippi. Following James's passing, Sheryl moved to Mandeville to be closer to the family she loved so dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Brady Henderson; her parents, Carlton and Helen Landry; and her brother, Dale J. Landry. She is survived by her sister, Janelle Landry (Mickey), and her brother, Craig S. Landry (Tuesday).

Sheryl is lovingly remembered by her children, Troy Michael Odenwald (Dayna), Tara Odenwald Juneau (Wayne), and Matthew James Boudreaux. She was an immensely proud and devoted grandmother to her six beloved grandchildren: Haley Juneau, Hunter Juneau, Harrison Juneau (Chloe), Zachary Odenwald, Nash Odenwald (Kerilynn), and Regan Odenwald (John). They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Together with her beloved friend and business partner of many years, Lynn Lansford, Sheryl co-owned Mark Twain Studios, a successful hair salon in River Ridge, Louisiana, for more than 40 years. She took great pride in her work and cherished the many friendships she developed throughout her career. Outside the salon, Sheryl found joy in gardening, spending time with family and friends, doting on her beloved dog Lily, and creating lasting memories with those she loved.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Sheryl's lifelong friends, Vivian and Jamie Blackwell, whose unwavering love, friendship, and support enriched her life for more than 50 years. They also wish to express their sincere appreciation to Kim Liggio, whose kindness, compassion, and devoted care brought comfort to Sheryl during her later years.

In keeping with Sheryl's wishes, no formal funeral or memorial service will be held. A private family burial will take place at a later date. The family invites those who knew and loved Sheryl to honor her memory in their own special way—through a simple act of kindness, by sharing a cherished story, or by making a memorial donation to the Louisiana SPCA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, two organizations that were especially close to her heart and to which she faithfully contributed throughout her life.
