Some people make life a little more colorful, a little more interesting, and a whole lot more fun. Shane Janvier Clower was one of those people.
Born in New Orleans on February 5, 1969, Shane carried the spirit of her hometown wherever life took her. She attended St. Frances Cabrini Elementary School and graduated from Mount Carmel Academy. She had a love for music, an adventurous soul, and an infectious enthusiasm for whatever came her way. Whether it was a concert, a music festival, a spontaneous adventure, or simply spending time with the people she loved, Shane was always ready to say yes to life.
That fun-loving spirit was matched by her enormous heart. Outgoing, kind, and endlessly thoughtful, Shane had a gift for connecting with people and making everyone feel welcome. As a devoted mother to Elliott, she brought that same warmth, love, and caring spirit to raising her child. As a nurse, she dedicated her career to caring for others, a natural extension of the compassion and generosity that defined her.
Shane eventually made her home in Perrysburg, Ohio, but New Orleans remained forever part of her soul. She embodied the city’s warmth, music, free spirit, and joie de vivre, bringing a little of that magic wherever she went.
Shane passed away unexpectedly on October 20, 2026, at the age of 57, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a circle of family and friends who will forever miss her vibrant presence.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jack Sager; her child, Elliott Sager; her parents, Stephanie Jean Perrin and James Wesley Clower III; her brothers, Zachary Hand and Jamison Clower; her sister, Heather Bree; and the many friends and loved ones whose lives were brighter for having known her.
Services for Shane will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2026 with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., at Bagnell & Sons Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana. A celebration of her life will follow at a location to be announced. Following cremation, Shane will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Shane in a way she would have loved: catch some live music, dance like nobody’s watching, say yes to an adventure, or simply show someone an unexpected kindness.
Shane lived with an open heart, an adventurous soul, and an extraordinary zest for life. She embraced each day with enthusiasm, cherished the people she loved, and found joy in life’s simplest moments. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Shane may have left the party far too soon, but her fearless spirit lives on, and the music will never stop playing.
