Samuel “Sammy” Bertucci passed away on October 13th, 2026, surrounded by friends and family. He was born on June 6th, 1984 in Metairie, LA to Michael and April (Duncan) Bertucci. During his final days, it was learned that Sammy had professed his faith in the Lord just weeks before. His loved ones have found great peace in knowing he has been received by the Kingdom of God.
Sammy will be deeply missed. He was hardworking and resilient — a true Southshore native. His loyalty was unmatched and his humor brought joy, even on the darkest days. He was an aspiring author, he loved producing music, and he enjoyed playing video games with friends from around the globe.
Sammy suffered a stroke in February of this year. He described the stroke as “the thing that took my words and forced me to find them again.” His journey taught us all about the gift of conversation. Sammy’s passing has left us with an unfamiliar silence — but in the silence, we are reminded, “We don’t need to agree. We just need to keep talking… even when it’s hard.”
Sammy is preceded in death by his cousin, Elise Booth, who was like a sister to him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings — Mikie, Ruthie (Ray), and Jesse (Hailey) Bertucci; his nieces and nephews — Riley, Sydnie, and Kenzie Schultz, Reignen Totoricco, and Blaine (Hannah) Bertucci. He is also survived by Amanda, Ellie, Dylan, Stephen and many other friends, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Harahan Christian Church on November 1st, 2026. Visitation will begin at 3:00PM, followed by a service at 4:00PM. Those wishing to honor Sammy’s memory may send flowers or make a charitable donation to Harahan Christian Church.
