Ruth Ann Tucker Weeks went home to be with the Lord, peacefully at home, on July 3, 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Hester Tucker, brothers Douglas and R.C. and sisters Edna, Bernice and Sharon. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Franklin T. Weeks (Teddy). She is survived by her daughter Angela Galloway (Lee), granddaughters Rylee Galloway and Sydney Egnew (Nathan) and her two great-grandchildren Amelia and Emery Egnew. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews that she loved and considered her own.
Ruth Ann was born in South Florida, where she met Teddy at a young age. They married and moved to New Orleans initially and then settled on the Northshore in Slidell for most of their lives together. She was a stay-at-home mom for a time then managed a local dress shop and eventually became a certified pharmacy tech, later in life.
Ruth Ann was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed her Sunday school classes and at one point was member of the choir. She enjoyed praising through music the best! She also enjoyed the work she did in the Food Ministry at FBC. It was here that she felt like she was making a difference in someone’s life in a small way.
She was also a member of the Slidell Women’s Civic Club and enjoyed designing costumes and floats for that organization in the past. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Society and participated in the Delta Chi chapter.
Ruth Ann loved art. She enjoyed creating pictures using all different mediums. She decorated custom furniture and painted murals, as well. She was also an art teacher for STARC for a period and enjoyed the teaching, her co-workers and clients very much.
Ruth Ann will be remembered and missed by all of her family and friends very much, but we take heart in knowing that she is resting in the peace of the Lord eternally. A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church, Slidell, LA on July 18th. There will be a visitation period between 10am – 11am and the service will commence at 11am.
