Ruth Lang Finney

Ruth Lang Finney passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12th, 2023 at her home in Slidell Louisiana. Ruth was a Native of New Orleans and grew up in Uptown where she graduated from Fortier High School in 1968. Ruth continued her education by attending Southeastern University in Hammond LA, Soule Business School, & Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans where she obtained her BSN. Ruth was Registered Nurse at West Jefferson Hospital in the OB unit, then went on to become a Nursing Instructor at West Jefferson Technical College, and then a teacher at Slidell Christian Academy where she retired. 

 

Ruth is survived by her husband of 44 years Michael Finney Sr, her daughters Amy Finney & Crystal Finney, and one son, Ronald (Gus) Finney, as well as her 2 Step Children, Michael Finney Jr. & Laura Finney Curtis. Ruth is also survived by 3 sisters, Martha Bauer, June Lang Harris & Marilyn Lang Newton, and 5 Nieces and a Nephew, Melissa Harris Spedale, Ellen Noto Pelle, Rebecca Noto Dubois, Katherine Noto Gibbs, Margaret Newton and Greg Bauer as well as numerous Great Nieces & Nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Ronald E Lang and Pearl Nunnery Lang.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at Slidell Bible Church located at 59334 North Pearl Dr, Slidell LA 70461.
