Ronald Robert Buchta

Ronald Robert “Ron” Buchta passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in his home in Covington, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family. Ron was the beloved husband of Hazel Maklary Buchta for 48 years. Ron was born on June 8, 1951, in Channelview, Texas, to Matilda and the late Emil Buchta. He is survived by his siblings Rita Tyler, Raymond Buchta, and Donald Buchta.

Ron was a devoted father to his three children, Megan Cooper (Kyle), Robert Buchta (Melissa), and Renee Frost (Andy).

Ron was also blessed with eight grandchildren: Ava, Lily, and Mason Cooper, Vivienne and Charlotte Buchta, and Ansley, Liam, and Scarlett Frost.

Throughout his life, Ron was an avid fisherman, a veteran of the US Navy, a dedicated employee of Gulf South Machine, and a classic car enthusiast. After his retirement, Ron continued his passions of fishing and classic cars and became an active member of Church of the King, where he enjoyed serving and leading men’s bible studies.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are forever grateful for the time we were given and the countless memories left behind. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in his family and all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on September 5, 2025, beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm at Shepard’s Care Ministry, located at 20115 Hwy 1081, Covington, LA 70435. Burial will immediately follow in the Barker McManus Cemetery.
