Rodney Paul Girard

Rodney Paul Girard, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He was a true family man whose presence brought warmth and laughter to all who knew him.

Rodney is survived by his daughter, Brittany Girard Kurtz, and her husband, Brad Kurtz; his son, Brad Girard, and his wife, Annabel Girard; and his cherished grandchildren, Rylan Girard Kurtz, Landry Olivia Kurtz, and Brody Thomas Kurtz. He is also survived by his former wife and lifelong friend, Susan Girard.

Rodney is further survived by his brother, Richard Boutte; his sister, Louise Boutte; and his sisters-in-law, Susan Boutte and Helen Boutte. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Mark Tusch, and his wife, Debbie Tusch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ida Girard, and his brothers, Louis Boutte and Curis Boutte.

Originally from New Iberia, Rodney made Mandeville his home with his family in 1993. He built a life centered around his wife and kids.

Known throughout the auto industry as one of the top Finance Directors, Rodney earned the respect and admiration of his peers for his dedication and unmatched expertise.

Rodney was a proud supporter of the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints, cheering on his teams with passion every season. His legacy will continue through the memories made during the many holiday gatherings, beach vacations, cruises, backyard crawfish boils, and countless moments shared with friends, family, neighbors, and loved ones over the years.

Rodney’s spirit lives on in the traditions he helped build, the values he instilled, and the love he shared with his family.
