Robert “Bobby” Bruce Hurst (age 67) was born on June 11, 1958, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 1, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana. Bobby was a proud and supportive husband, father, Pawpaw, brother and uncle. Nothing meant more to him than family.
Bobby is survived by his wife, June Hendrick Hurst. His daughters; Candace Belmar (Dave) and Amanda Sprouse (David). His sons; Billy Bruce Hurst II (Whitney) and Mason Hurst (Christiauna). His stepchildren; Matthew Malbrough (Chasey), Melissa Gravois (Alex), Dylan Malbrough, Mary Beth Malbrough (Ricky) and Michael Malbrough.
His 18 grandchildren; Kaydence Hurst, Cameron Guidry, Alayna Guidry, Aidan Bourgeois, Zachary Bourgeois, Ella Kate Hurst, Billy “Tripp” Bruce Hurst III, Asher Belmar, Preston Sprouse, David Sprouse III, Aubrey Gravois, Julianne Gravois, Levi Gravois, Knox Malbrough, Brielle Jordan, Malakai Jordan, Adeline Malbrough, and arriving soon Natalie Jane Hurst. His sisters; Sandra Kramer and Pam Bourne. Numerous nieces and nephews and his former wife, Bonnie Breaux, who raised his 4 children.
He was preceded in death by his wife and high school sweetheart, Mary Pace Hurst. His parents; Billy Bruce Hurst I and Hilda Kerley Hurst. His brothers; Eddie Hurst and Lynn Hurst.
Bobby will be remembered for the impact he had on so many lives of the kids he coached over the years and the sacrifices he made for his family. After a long and successful career in the oil and gas industry, he enjoyed his retirement attending his grandkid’s ballgames and dance recitals, along with any other of their activities, Saints games, throwing the ball for his dog, Trigger, and traveling the world with his loving wife, June. He will leave behind a lasting legacy full of love and joy that will carry on forever. WHO DAT!
A visitation in Bobby’s honor will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Covington, Louisiana with a mass at 11:30am. Graveside services will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens following mass.
