Robert Paul Bowles Sr.

Robert “Bob” Paul Bowles, Sr, passed away on April 13, 2023, following a brief illness. Bob was born in Atlanta, GA on October 17, 1936, to Raymond William Bowles and Kathryn Alice Morning Bowles. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Jackie Blackwell Bowles of Bogalusa, LA, and his children Bryan of Wayside, WV, Sheri Wilkins (Dennis) of Mandeville, LA, Alesia Gagliano (John) of Ponchatoula, LA, Ray (Lehidys) of Naples, FL, and Doug (Jill) of Metairie, LA. He is preceded in death by his son Robert Paul Bowles, Jr. He is survived by his grandchildren Collin, Audrey, and Matthew Wilkins; Aidan Gagliano; Andy, Phoenix, Jackie Lynn, and Mia Bowles; Hayley Bowles; Kaitlyn Duckworth; Payton and Payge Smiley. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Bob attended Warren Easton High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. Following high school, he served in the US Air Force.

Bob worked for Malcom Dienes Accounting and then P.A. Menard Wholesale Grocers before opening BJ ‘s Quickprint with his wife. His faith was very important to him. He was active in the Men’s Club at St Catherine of Siena and served one term as president. After moving to St. Angela Merici, he served as an usher. He never met a stranger and talked with everyone.                             

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the funeral services at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, Metairie, LA, on Friday, April 21, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with a mass of Christian burial at 1:00 pm. Internment will be private at a later date. A celebration of life will follow the mass at Bucktown Hall, 310 Ash Street, Metairie, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests mass intentions. Arrangements By Bagnell & Son Funeral Home.
