Rita Marie Ward

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rita Ward, long time resident of Mandeville, Louisiana, on the 26th of March 2026 aged 75.

Rita Ward was born to Fred Frazier Ward and Viola Pitre on the 29th of January 1951 in Houma Louisiana. It was growing up there amongst her siblings, Leroy 'Red' Jones Gilling Sr., Tony Lapeyrouse, Kenny Pitre, and Darrell Pitre that instilled in her a the importance of family and community in daily life.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, three of her children: Mickey Guidry, Tony Guidry, and Tina Guidry, and one grandchild, Haley Guidry. She is survived, by Daniel Levron Jr., Daniel Levron III, Kalie Levron Martin, Colin Levron, Tony Guidry Jr. and Tiffany Guidry

Rita was a resident at the Raquette Lodge for the last 4 years. She loved getting together with the friends she made there and sitting with their dogs when needed.

A memorial service celebrating Rita's life will be held at a later date.
