Regina Marie DeForest, of Covington Louisiana, passed away at home on the Third of May, 2026. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune to meet her.

Born in New Orleans to James W. Wilson and Jean M. LeCourt on the Eighteenth of December 1961. Regina spent her youth amidst the rich history of the city alongside her brother, James W. Wilson II. 

Eventually coming to settle in Covington, Louisiana; Regina built a family with the love of her life Steven M. Deforest, raising three loving children together: Rachel Wilson, Jennifer Perez (Jason), and Stephanie Allman (Earl). 

To know Regina was to know stories that could go on and on. She was a natural story teller who could captivate a room with memories, ghost stories, and family tales. She loved people, and cherished the company of family and friends. She had a fascination with collecting gemstones and jewelry, and often found happiness in gift giving. She loved the outdoors and had a deep affection for animals, especially horses. Her cooking was unforgettable; holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas were made special with her recipes. She loved to read and was a big fan of Stephen King; enjoyed movie classics like Jaws and The Thing. She had a bossy and sassy side that everyone knew, but that fire in her spirit only made people love her more. Above all else, she was an amazing mother and grandmother to all her children and grandchildren, whom she loved deeply, and stood by them with unwavering support and immense joy; we were her, "treasure."

Regina is preceded in death by her parents James W. Wilson and Jeanne M. LeCourt, as well as her brother, James W. Wilson II. 

She is survived by her husband, Steven M. DeForest; her children: Rachel Wilson, Jennifer Perez (Jason) and Stephanie Alleman (Earl); and her grandchildren Taylor, Brooklynne, Gabriel, Joseph, Abbey, Lilly, and Kloe.

Close family and friends will be invited to a private memorial service to be announced at a later date.
