Regina Atwood “Aunt Gi” Morales of St. Bernard, Louisiana passed away on January 1, 2022 at the age of 64. She is survived by her daughter, Eva Morales Hebert (Wayne), daughter-in-law Cynthia Morales (Merteal dc.), her grandchildren, Chance Morales, Khelsie Morales, Kevin Hutchinson Jr, Nicholas Morales, and Austin Hebert. She is also survived by her siblings Jayne Dickson, Nancy Wilborn, Millie Wilborn, Missy Hunt, and Andrew “Andy” Hunt, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, many of the “adopted” nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Earline Atwood Hunt, her husband Rodney “Kawliga” Morales, and four of her children Merteal “Mousey”, Sabrina, Felicia, and Elicia.
Regina was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish living on Delacroix Island until relocating to Franklinton and Covington in 2018 due to medical problems. She was Aunt Gi to everyone and anyone. She was the wife of a fisherman and loved living by the water, even if she didn’t know how to swim. During her children’s early years she was never without a houseful of kids during vacation breaks and the summer months. Her house was were everyone wanted to spend time.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Bernard Catholic Church 2805 Bayou Road, St. Bernard, LA 70085 at 1:00pm. A burial prayer will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery across from the church at 12:00pm.
