Rebecca Ann Leggett-Cornwell

Rebecca Leggett-Cornwell passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023 at her home in Mandeville, LA at the age of 51. Rebecca was born on November 6, 1971 in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in Kenner. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tommie Lee Cornwell. 

Rebecca is survived by her devoted fiancé Thomas James “TJ” Ballero, her four beloved children, Alexander “Alex” Christopher Englade, Jade Olivia Francis Leggett, Alyssa Josette “Jo” Layne Leggett, and Shirley Ann Grace Cornwell, two stepsons, Donald John “DJ” Cornwell and Tommie Lee Cornwell, Jr. Her parents, Jennifer Ann Wooley and Herbert (Pamela) Leggett, and four siblings, Vicki (Rick) Eyman, Brandi (Jeff) Herrington, Christy (Reid) McKelvey, and Kevin Bullock. 

She also leaves behind a close-knit extended family whom she absolutely adored. Nieces and nephews, Taylor Jordan Eyman, Halie Rose Eyman, Richard “Ricky” Charles Eyman, III, and Aiden Mark Eyman, her uncle Wayne (Connie) Wooley, her aunt Syble Jane Wooley, her cousin Laura (Tim) Wooley and her beloved cat, Ellie. 

Rebecca, known to her family as “Becky,” cherished her children and loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.  She was a loyal and generous friend who loved with her whole heart. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help out anyone she could. She was a fan of 80’s club music, a “Friends” super fan, and her favorite movie was “True Romance,” but above all, she loved Jesus. Her Christian faith was unshakable and she believed that God was always at work in her life. 

Becky, the impact of your sudden passing is being felt by everyone in our family and the many, many friends you’ve made throughout your life. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. 

To honor Becky’s memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 3 at 11:00 AM at New Covenant Fellowship Church located at 3830 Williams Blvd. in Kenner. We will have a service and a sharing of loving memories, followed by fellowship, hugs, support, and food. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and in honor of Becky’s bright and animated personality and her passion for life, we encourage attendees to wear bright colors.
