Peggy Hammond

Peggy Ann Hammond was born on January 6, 1935, and passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Bogalusa, Louisiana. She lived a life filled with love for the outdoors, enjoying farming, horseback riding, and spending her time surrounded by nature.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Anthony L. Prats and Madeline Thelma Loyacano Prats, her husband Jimmie William Hammond Sr., her children; Carlos Miller (the late June), Dennis Miller, Diane Montgomery, Joseph Monier and Richard Scott.

Peggy leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her son Steven Hammond (Kathleen), daughter-in-law Marion Miller and son-in-law Paul Montgomery. In addition to her children, Peggy was a caring stepmother to Jimmie William, Jackie Brennan, and Fran Rossi. She cherished her family deeply, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Throughout her life, Peggy found joy in the simple pleasures of the countryside, often found working on the farm or riding horses. Her love for the outdoors was a defining part of who she was, giving her a strong connection to the land and a spirit of freedom that those who knew her will always remember.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and a love for family. Peggy Ann Hammond will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
