Patsy Mary Descant Saucier, born June 5, 1930, in Cottonport, LA passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, in Mandeville, LA. She was 96 years old. She was a cherished mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

In 1949, Patsy married D R Joseph Saucier and together they shared 68 years of marriage. Patsy owned a beauty salon in central Louisiana until they moved to Houma, LA in 1963 with their four sons. While residing in Houma, Patsy was a homemaker and gave birth to her 5th son and only daughter. In 1975, they relocated to Gretna, LA where they resided until 2017.

Patsy lived a life defined by warmth, deep faith, and devotion to her family. She was a devout Catholic and attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Terrytown, LA. She was a selfless and loving mother, enjoyed spending time with family, was a wonderful cook and her dedication to her daily walks was unmatched. Patsy was known for her legendary ice box lemon pie.

She is survived by her children Ken Saucier (Sharon), Lynn Saucier (Teresa), Brian Saucier (Vanessa), Patrick Saucier and Suzanne Roy (Gregg); grandchildren: Jennifer, Summer, Zackary, Jake, Sophie, Jessica, Lauren, Collin, Hayden and Benjamin. Patsy is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, D R, her son, David Craig Saucier; parents, Theophile Descant Jr. and Celcina Descant and her nine siblings.

A service will be held September 18, 2006 at St. Joseph's Abbey. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM. Service to be held at 2:00 PM with inurnment to follow in the St. Joseph's Abbey Cemetery.
