Pamela Therese Manguno Hewitt

Pamela Therese Manguno Hewitt, beloved wife of Richard Douglas Hewitt, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, has entered her heavenly home on February 21, 2025 at the age of 77. Pamela was born on March 21, 1947 at Mercy Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Francis J. and Miriam C. Buisson Manguno. Pamela met her husband Richard, a US Navy serviceman met on the River Boat President, sailing the Mississippi River on June 6th, 1964. It was love at first site. They married on September 2, 1967 in Metairie, Louisiana. They were happily married for 57 years.

Pamela was a graduate of Loyola University and retired from Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans, LA. She is survived by her loving husband Richard Douglas Hewitt, her son Richard Edwin Hewitt and wife Susan. Her son, Adam Francis Hewitt, wife, Shannon, her daughter Rachel Lyn Hewitt Strain and husband John A. Strain II, and her brother Robert Matthias Buisson, Sr. Pamela is also survived by her grandson Matthew Richard Strain, his wife Jo Catherine along with two great granddaughters, Artemis Rachel and Cora Rose Strain.

She loved cooking, baking and sewing. She also loved to spend her time boating and swimming, fishing, traveling, specifically her love of going to the beach, and enjoying her family gatherings. She will forever be missed and will always live on in our hearts. A private celebration of life for the family will be held at a later date.
