Myra McKeever passed away peacefully on July 15, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel J. McKeever; her parents, Melvin and Estelle Seither; and her nephew, Justin Gutierrez.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Glenie Kennedy, and her granddaughter, Dawn Johnson. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Lois Gutierrez; her nephew and godson, John Gutierrez (Jennifer), and their children, Kate and Eli; and her niece, Kristen Bendich (Mike), and their children, Ellie, Michael, and Eliza-Mae.
Myra was a graduate of Spencer’s School of Business. She began her career with the French Line Steamship Company, where she worked for many years before embarking on a new venture with her husband, co-founding the Derby Day Deli, a cherished neighborhood spot known for its warmth and hospitality.
A talented cook and gracious hostess, Myra found great joy in preparing meals for her family and friends. She was an avid reader with a special fondness for mystery novels and a lifelong animal lover. Her beloved pets—Dalmatians Patches and Nikki, and her cat Toonces—held a special place in her heart.
Myra’s kindness, wit, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
