Michael O. Connick

Michael O. Connick, of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on September 14, 2026, at the age of 90. He was born on April 20, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and carried with him throughout his life a deep devotion to faith, family, and perseverance.

Michael will be remembered as a devout Catholic, a man of commitment and quiet strength, and someone who met life with determination. Among the accomplishments that brought pride to those who knew him were his service in the United States Army and the remarkable feat of running two marathons across the New Orleans Causeway Bridge. He lived and breathed the Saints, never missed a game. These moments reflect the endurance, discipline, and spirit that helped shaped his life.

At the heart of Michael’s story was his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Beatrice Bias Walton Connick, for 52 years, sharing a life built on love and steadfast companionship. He was a loving father to the five children he considered his own: his son Richard Walton Jr.; his daughters Linda Lucille  Walton, Suzanne V. Walton, and Mary Helen Walton; and his son Mark W. Walton . He loved spending time with his family, and that love was returned many times over in the lives he helped guide and cherish.

He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Elizabeth Willis Carroll , Gregory Willis, Patrick Willis, as well as numerous grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews who continue his family’s legacy and carry forward the memory of his warmth and presence.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, James Connick, and his mother, Jessie Fowler as well as his siblings; Jimmy, Harry, Johnny, Paul, Mary, Billy and Jessie.

Michael leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. His family also extends special thanks to his nephew Roy for his devotion and care to Michael during his illness, a kindness that will be remembered with deep gratitude.

Michael O. Connick’s life was marked by faith, endurance, and love for those closest to him. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A private graveside service will take place in the Davis Cemetery.
