Michael Allen Blaylock

Michael Allen Blaylock, age 54, of Madisonville, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on July 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with jaw cancer.

Michael was born on August 27, 1970, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Jerry Blaylock and Ann Vangundy. He was a graduate of Lavaca High School and went on to earn a degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Arkansas Tech University.

In 1995, Michael married Kimberly Dawn Clifton, in Russellville, Arkansas. His passion for athletics and service led him to begin his career as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Alma High School. He later transitioned into healthcare administration, serving as Chief Operations Officer for River Valley Primary Care Services. Most recently, Michael and Kim relocated to Madisonville, Louisiana, where he worked for CenterWell/Humana.

A dedicated Arkansas Razorback fan, Michael rarely missed a football game, cheering on his team with unwavering spirit. His creativity shone throughout his many hobbies—woodworking, crafting cajon drums, cooking, and grilling were just a few of the ways he expressed his love for life. 

Michael also had a deep passion for music and community, often using his talents to run sound for local churches and bands.

Michael will be remembered for his warm heart, servant’s spirit, generous nature, and the joy he brought to others through both his work and his many passions.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Ann and Jeff Vangundy. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Blaylock of Madisonville, Louisiana, his father, Jerry Blaylock of Lavaca, Arkansas; his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Amy Blaylock of Madisonville, Louisiana; eight nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

Michael's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the love he shared, and the laughter he inspired.
