Mary Ann Morel, born on December 30, 1930, in Sunrise, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, in Covington, Louisiana. A native of Buras, Louisiana, Mary was known for her warm and friendly personality, which endeared her to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a devoted mother, granny, sister, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed. Mary dedicated her life to her family, cherishing every moment she spent with them. She is survived by her loving daughter Trechel Ramagos and her husband Marshall; sons Sam Cooper, Jr. and his wife Lynn, Jan Michael Graham and his wife Regina, and Louis Lyn Franicevich. Additionally, she leaves behind her son-in-law Matt Vodopija, her brother Derryl Morel, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her and will cherish her memory.
Mary was predeceased by several beloved family members, including her parents, Louis Morel Sr. and Pauline Galmiche Morel; her daughters, Blanche Vodopija and Darla Jean Allman; her son-in-law, Tim Allman; as well as her sister, Virginia Morel and brothers, Louis Morel, Jr. and Arthur Morel.
Her passion for preaching about Jehovah's Kingdom was a significant part of her life, reflecting her deep faith and commitment to her beliefs. Mary Ann Morel's legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will continue to resonate with all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will always be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
Mary’s memorial service will be held on May 17, 2025, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Covington, LA. The service will begin at 2:00 PM.
