Mary Meeks, born on March 26, 1949, in Harrison County, Indiana a cherished soul whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her, departed this life on March 5, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
As a devoted mother, Mary raised her sons, John Meeks (Elain) and Brian Meeks (Kristina), her role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys; she adored each of her grandchildren: Morgan Silverthorn (Ethan), Haley Meeks , EJ Pimentel, Jamila Day, Khadijah Meeks, Elijah Meeks, Tobin Hesse, and Conner Hesse as well as her great-granddaughter, Avery Silverthorn. With every smile and giggle they shared, Mary created lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
Mary's artistic spirit flourished in her passion for writing and theatre. She found solace in watching plays, drawing inspiration from the stories that unfolded on stage, and using her remarkable writing skills to craft her own narratives that touched the hearts of many. She had a knack for capturing moments, often indulging her love for life by collecting pictures that told the tales of her family’s adventures together. Her work as an author left a lasting impact, as her words resonated deeply with readers, weaving themes of love, hope, and family bonds.
Family gatherings were often filled with Mary’s lively presence, and her home was a haven where laughter rang out and stories flowed freely. She was more than just a grandmother; she was the cornerstone of her family, the one who brought them together and made every moment extraordinary. Her ability to genuinely connect with others made her not only the best grandmother but a beloved sister, and friend to many.
Mary is survived by her loving sons, John Meeks (Elain) and Brian Meeks (Kristina); her sister, Linda Schoene (Joseph); her brother, Gary Napper (Rene); and her treasured grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who will continue to carry forward her legacy of love and creativity.
She joins in eternal rest her beloved parents, John Napper and Edith Bube Napper, her brother, John Napper, Jr., and her sister, Patricia Marr, all of whom she loved deeply. Mary Meeks will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she touched. The world is indeed a little dimmer without her, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know her.
