Marjorie Faye
Turner
February 21, 1939 – May 9, 2026
Our sweet mom, Marjorie “Faye” Holman Turner, passed away May 9, 2026 at the age of 87 where she lived in Covington, Louisiana.
Faye was born in Carrollton, Carroll County, Mississippi on February 21, 1939. She graduated from J.Z. George High School in 1957. In 1958, she attended Holmes Jr. College (along with her boyfriend, Rogers) where she was Class Secretary, member of the choir, lead majorette of the marching band, and voted ‘Most Friendly’.
On August 23, 1960 she married her all-star football sweetheart, Rogers Carroll Turner. They spent their lives together in Carrollton and Mississippi State, Mississippi; Oklahoma, Texas, back to Mississippi, Virginia, then back again to Vicksburg with their two daughters.
Faye loved singing in the choir at First Baptist Church in Vicksburg, special outings with her friends, playing hymns on the piano, sewing, playing Canasta, Dominoes, Bridge, and being a part of the FBC Senior Adult Ministry. But her most favorite was being Grammie to her 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
Faye was known to have such sayings as “Dear Gussie”, “Bless Pat”, and “What in the Sam Hill”, but her most joyous saying was telling her girls and grandkids “I love love love you so much my Sweetie Pie”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rogers Turner; her mother, Minnie Clyde Hamrick Holman; her father, William Curtis Holman and her sister, Sarah Margaret Work.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Ousterhout and Lisa Williams (Marty); four grandchildren Kari Thompson (Ben), Aaron Ousterhout, Madison Williams and Amelia Williams; and one precious great grandchild Hudson Thompson.
Her earthly body rests at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery, Vicksburg, Warren County, Mississippi, with arrangements entrusted to Bagnell & Son Funeral Home in Covington, Louisiana. Though she is absent from us in body, her beautiful soul is now rejoicing in the presence of Jesus, singing, dancing and praising Him in heaven. HALLELUJAH!
