In Loving Memory of Luis Antonio Vargas

November 15, 1955 – May 23, 2026

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Luis Antonio Vargas of Covington, Louisiana, who left us on May 23, 2026, at the age of 70. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Born on November 15, 1955, in Heredia, Costa Rica, to Antonio Vargas and Amada Ulate, Luis grew up surrounded by the love of his sisters. Seeking new opportunities, Luis and his devoted wife, Linda Maria Lafont, left their beloved Costa Rica for America, where he proudly became a citizen and built a beautiful life.

Luis was a man of many passions. He found great joy in the quiet patience of gardening, the freedom of cycling, and was an avid ham radio enthusiast—a hobby that allowed him to stay deeply connected with loved ones back home and speak with friends across the world.

Luis was preceded in death by his beloved son, Oscar. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished wife, Linda, and his precious granddaughter, Nahiara, who brought immense light to his life.

Per his wishes, Luis's remains will return to his native Costa Rica to reside eternally with his family.
