Lorraine Webb

Lorraine Ware Webb passed away at her home in Slidell, Louisiana on May 10, 2023, at the age of 95 years. Lorraine was born at home in New Orleans, Louisiana to Edward Ware and Rose Everhardt Ware on July 1, 1927.

Lorraine was one of six children and went on to have six children of her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Ware and Rose Everhardt Ware; her brother, Edward Ware; her sisters, Ethel Markins, Gladys Ware, Althea Solomon, Edith Farrell; her son, Donald Chester Webb; her grandson, David Wayne Creamer and her granddaughters Shana Rose Webb and Vicky Lynn Landry.

Lorraine is survived by five of her children Laurence Eugene (Vicki) Webb, Robert Daniel (Stephanie) Webb, Elaine Lorraine (Johnnie Max) Foster, Ralph Edward Webb and Cynthia Rose (Wayne) Creamer.

Additionally, she is survived by 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews who lovingly called her "Aunt Rain."

She was affectionately referred to as “Mrs. Lorraine" by many in Slidell. Mrs. Lorraine was known for her no-nonsense attitude and work ethic in customer service and the front offices of A&P and Schwegmann's grocery stores well into her 70's. Her first job, as a teenager, was as a telephone switch operator and her last job was as a travel agent. She loved to travel.

She began her travels as a teen when she went to live with her sister in California, where she eventually met her husband and became a Navy wife. They had 4 children in California before moving back to Louisiana where they had 2 more. Once her children were grown, she began to travel the South with her daughters and their families. She visited Hawaii with her grand-daughter. She traveled the East Coast and Mid-West with her sisters, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed many fishing trips to Broken Bow, Oklahoma with her great-grandkids. Her final long distance trip was at 90 years old to visit her great-grandson at Beale AFB,  California.

She spent many years moving between her daughters in Pearl River and Slidell, her niece in LaPlace, Louisiana and granddaughter in Campbell, Texas. She was grateful for the love everyone showed her throughout her life and for the care Cindy gave her in her final days.

She was loved by us all and will be missed dearly.
