Lillian Angelo Lachica

June 23, 1938 — February 22, 2024

Covington, LA

Lillian Angelo Lachica, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024 with her daughters by her side. Lillian was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and later made Chalmette, Louisiana her home, where she raised her family. She started a career with a Leather Workshop in her home and spent weekends at a Booth in the Flea Market. Later she worked for Chef K. Paul Prudhomme as a Supervisor at Magic Seasoning Blends. Then she opened her in-home daycare. She will be fondly remembered by the parents and many children that she loved and cared for as her own. As she was the most loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. She was humble and kind with the most beautiful smile. She always made the best of every situation and would extend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was the strongest person we have ever known and she will forever be our hero. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. 

Lillian leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her children Sandra Ann Lachica, Gina Lachica Laigast (Donald), Cindy Lachica Robertson (Charlie), her grandchildren; Jason Lachica, Christie Bruno, Lindsay Robertson Brigham (Jake), Megan Robertson Dore (David), Seth Laigast (Lindsay), Brooke Laigast, D.J. Laigast as well as ten great-grandchildren. 

She also leaves behind her sisters Ellie Angelo (Robert Davis) and Hazel Krzywicki, her best friend Peggy Tybussek, and godchildren Greg Castillo and David Miller and a host of other relatives. 

Lillian is preceded in death by her parents Dominic Angelo, Sr. and Juanita Laugier Angelo, her son Val Thomas Lachica and her grandchildren Madden Taylor Brigham and Hayden Lachica. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Angelo, Gay Angelo, Dominic Angelo, Jr., Maurice Angelo and Darlene Sergi. 

The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at St. Catherine’s Hospice and Forest Manor Nursing Home.

A private service will be held in her memory.
