Lauralee R. Reugger passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 85. Born on June 6, 1941, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lauralee's life was a testament to strength, kindness, and enduring ties to community and family.
She was the beloved spouse of Lou Leger, with whom she shared many steadfast years. Lauralee's devotion to her family was evident throughout her life, as she lovingly cherished her nephews, Parker Montgomery, his wife Amanda Mosher and their daughter Mila of Metairie, Louisiana, and Jordan Montgomery, his wife Julie Thiele and their son Tanner of Mandeville, Louisiana who survive her and will carry her memory forward. Her warmth and guidance were also felt strongly by her cousins—Charles Stickling of Port Vincent, Louisiana, William Stickling of Port Vincent, Louisiana, and Michael Stickling of Virgina—whose lives she touched profoundly.
Lauralee was preceded in death by her father, Fredrick Reugger; her mother, Laura Riddle both of New Orleans, Louisiana; and her sister, Elizabeth Reugger Montgomery. Their memories remained close to her heart, a quiet source of strength and reflection.
Throughout her eighty-five years, Lauralee exemplified compassion, integrity, and dignity. She retired from Shell Oil Company as a Micro Paleontologist. Lauralee enjoyed an active life with several hobbies including; boating, traveling, especially to the Mountains, as well as Canada, Mexico and Alaska. Bird watching was one of her many passions using her avid photography skills photographing wild birds. Most of all, Lauralee loved growing and styling Bonsai for the last twenty-five years.
Her absence will be keenly felt by her family and friends, but her legacy will endure in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her. Lauralee R. Reugger’s life will be fondly remembered—her presence, her insightful words, and her unwavering love will remain etched in memory for years to come.
