Kraig John Stutes, 60, of Covington, Louisiana passed away peacefully at his home on November 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Born in Rayne, La. On May 27, 1965 to Ralph and Arleen Stutes, Kraig graduated from Louisiana State University and built a respected career in financial management and was admired for his integrity, intelligence and kindness.
Kraig loved deeply and lived boldly. He was a rare blend of hard work and adventure. He found joy in the simple things: the great outdoors, a well cooked meal with his secret ingredients, and time spent with family and friends. He always saw things through with grit, faith, and just enough humor to keep you smiling.
His faith guided him, his humor grounded him, and his big heart left an impression that will never fade,
He is survived by his devoted wife, Terry Liberto Stutes; his son Ethan Bertke; his stepson Zachary Swan (Chelsea); three grandsons Luke, Oliver, and Matthew, his parents Ralph J. Stutes and Arleen Stutes, his siblings Dayna Castille, Chad Stutes (Maxine), Kaylyn LeBlanc (Mark), Kevin Stutes (Sherry), 11 nieces and nephews, and 16 great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Agnes Gossen Arnold and Elbert Arnold, paternal grandparents Adez Lavergne Stutes and Ernest Stutes, brother Neil Andrew Stutes, brother-in-law Michael James Castille, nephew Alexander Stutes.
The family would like to thank Hospice Specialists of Louisiana for the care and compassion they showed in his final days.
