Kerry James “Doc” Lopez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and lifelong member of the Harahan community, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 73. He was surrounded by the love of family and friends during his final moments.
Kerry lived in Harahan, Louisiana for 62 years, from the age of five until 2018, when he moved to Covington, Louisiana in St. Tammany Parish. Known for his vibrant spirit, generous heart, and deep devotion to his family, Kerry touched the lives of all who knew him.
Kerry was the proud owner and operator of Harahan Alignment from 1980 through 2016. He was well known in the community not only for his work ethic and skill, but also for the honesty and kindness he extended to every customer. He considered his customers and the employees he worked alongside as friends, and built lasting relationships throughout the years.
He was a longtime and dedicated member of River Ridge Assembly of God, where he worshipped and served faithfully from 1983 until 2004. Kerry’s strong faith was a guiding light in his life, and he was ready to meet Jesus, his Lord and Savior.
Outside of work and church, Kerry lived life to the fullest. He loved fishing, riding his Harley-Davidson, and vacationing with his family—especially those times spent making memories together on the water or the road.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lynette Puderer Lopez, and his four devoted daughters: Charice Langla (Kenny), D’ann Hellbach (Eric), April Lopez (Becka), and Kerri Liccardi (Stephanie). He is also survived by his nephew, Michael Puderer, among several other nieces and nephews.
Kerry was a proud grandfather to Kristen Klein (Adam), Tre’ Langla (Megan Taylor), Zac Borja, Zoe Borja, Megan Hellbach (Tyler Oulliber), Seigen Borja, Saige Borja (Michael Johnson), Jake Hellbach, and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his unborn grandchild, Griffin Lopez.
He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Liam Langla, Elijah and Noah Johnson, Alivia Oulliber, and Aiden James Klein.
Kerry was born on December 5, 1951, to Junius J. Lopez and Jenita Griffin Lopez, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Beverly “Mickey” Hogan (Al) and Cynthia Nash.
Kerry’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his warmth, humor, quiet strength, and steadfast love for his family. His presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A small, private, and intimate service will be held in his honor on July 5, 2025.
