Kelly Brogdon

"Kelly Jean (Avants) Brogdon, of Slidell, Louisiana born on December 4, 1963 to Joe and Catherine Avants of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away at the age of 58 on April 20, 2022 with her husband at her side in Slidell, Louisiana.

She loved her family and friends as immensely as she was loved by them, she never met a stranger, lived life with an energy that can not be matched and to a melody that was as upbeat as her spirit.

She leaves behind a legacy of loved ones, her husband and best friend Boyce Brogdon, her children Melissa Word Moore, Lauren Word Womack, Philip Word and step-daughter Natausha Dufrene; her grandchildren, Justin Turner, Kadence Moore, Nicholas Womack, Robert Moore, Aubree Word, Alysen Word, Emma Womack, Amelia Word and her step-grandchildren Tonya Folse, Trey Folse Jr (TJ), Kason Dufrene, Kaylee Dufrene, and Kameron Dufrene; her siblings Gary Leonard Avants, Wanda Avants Torres, Janet Avants Soileau and Joseph Keith Avants; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and more friends than can be counted.

Preceded in death by her father Joe Leonard Avants Jr, her mother Catherine Cashio Avants, sisters Patricia Lynn Avants and Cathy Gayle Avants, and first husband father of her children Robert Francis Word."
