Obituary

Kathy "Katie" Barbier Bernadas passed away on June 28, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 5, 1951, Katie lived a life filled with laughter, friendship, adventure, and love for her family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Raynold and Beatrice Barbier and the cherished sister of the late Danny Barbier.

Katie was a devoted mother to her son, Lester J. Bernadas, and his wife, Tracy Peterson. She was a proud grandmother to Victoria Potter (Kyle), Maysin "Brandon" Blum (Abigayle), and Keidyn Miknaitis. She was also blessed with two beloved great-grandchildren, Kendalle Potter and Kyle Potter, Jr., who brought immense joy to her life. Also Survived by her ex-husband Lester A. Bernadas.

Katie shared a special bond with Lisa Fauntleroy, whom she considered a sister. Lisa, along with her husband, Boudean, their son Bryce, and his wife Rachael, were regarded as family and held a treasured place in Katie's heart.

Known to many as "Katie," she was truly the life of the party. She never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She loved spending time on trail rides with her horses and good friends, taking trips to the beach, and creating lasting memories with those she loved. Katie embraced every moment and lived life to the fullest, leaving behind a legacy of joy, friendship, and unconditional love.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Though her presence will be greatly missed, the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation services at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home in Covington, Louisiana. Family visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with public visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., followed by an in-house Mass.
