Kathleen Sanchez Battistella, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on July 8, 2026, in Slidell, Louisiana. Born on January 7, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kathleen’s life was marked by deep love for her family, resilience, and gentle spirit that touched all who knew her.

Kathleen was the daughter of the late Lester and Betty Sanchez, whose warmth and guidance shaped her early years in New Orleans. Throughout her life, Kathleen remained deeply connected to her roots, cherishing the values instilled in her by her parents and carrying forward their legacy of compassion and kindness.

Her journey in life was shared with her late husband, Rodney Battistella III. Together, they built a life full of partnership, love, and devotion. Their union was blessed with their children Rodney L. Battistella IV and Kevin P. Battistella, who survive her and were a source of great pride and joy in her life. 

Kathleen found immense happiness in her family, embracing her role as a grandmother to Jaxson, Easton, and Addison Battistella. Her grandchildren brought her joy, and her legacy of love and wisdom endures in their hearts.

She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth Baudin (the late Louis Baudin Jr.), and her brother, Paul Sanchez (Christina Sanchez), both of whom treasured her gentle presence, her unwavering support, and the bond of siblinghood that carried them through life’s joys and sorrows.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lester and Betty Sanchez, and her dear husband, Rodney Battistella. Though their loss was immeasurable, Kathleen honored their memories in the way she lived—with grace, dignity, and quiet strength.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd, Slidell, LA 70461. Visitation will be held on July 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the same location.

Kathleen Sanchez Battistella will be remembered for her kindness, steadfast love, and the lasting connections she forged with all who were privileged to know her.
