Judith Ann St. Romain

Judith Ann St. Romain, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 87. Born on March 29, 1939, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Judith’s life was woven with devotion to her family and an enduring spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Judith was the cherished daughter of the late Edward Gebhardt and Viola Rebler. She grew up surrounded by the unique culture and warmth of New Orleans, which influenced the grace, humor, and resilience she carried throughout her life.

She shared her journey with her beloved late husband, Bert J. St. Romain Sr., who was her companion and partner through many years of joy and challenge. Together, they created a close-knit family that became Judith’s greatest pride. Judith was a devoted mother to her two sons, Bert J. St. Romain Jr. (Wendy) and Steven M. St. Romain (Karin), and her late daughter, Sharon Ansardi. Her loving guidance shaped her children, who in turn blessed her with a large and adoring family.

Judith’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Misty Long (Charles), Holly Sanchez (Jesse), Yvonne Harvey (Chris), Heidi Boudoin (Michael), Bert St. Romain III, Mandi Tregle (Scott), Merissa Lopez (Richard), Steven St. Romain Jr. (Alexandra), and Olivia Daughtry (Ryan). Each of them carries forward her unwavering love, gentle kindness, and steadfast support.

Family ties were central in Judith’s world, and she is survived by her sisters Janet Schnell (Ronnie), Karen Lemoine (Duke) and her brother Edward Gebhardt Jr. (Lou). She was predeceased by her sister Brenda Loupe and brother-in-law Paul Loupe, whose memories she cherished dearly.
