Josephine Theresa Marchese Lyons departed this world on August 1, 2026, leaving a legacy of warmth and love. Born and raised in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, Josephine, affectionately known as Josie, was a beacon of creativity and joy. Her talents were manifold, shining brightly in the arts and crafts she lovingly crafted and shared at the French Market.
A devoted mother, wife, and grandmother, Josie's life was a tapestry of love woven through countless relationships and cherished family ties. She follows in eternal rest her beloved husband, Jerry, her parents, Joseph and Cecile, as well as her siblings Joe, Michael, Angelo, and Marie,
Josie's contributions to her community were profound. As the lighting coordinator for New Orleans City Park's Christmas in the Oaks, she illuminated the holidays with her enchanting designs, spreading joy and light to all. Her passion for gardening flourished in her vibrant gardens, and her culinary skills delighted many as she lovingly prepared Sicilian cookies for St. Joseph’s altar.
Her spirit is lovingly carried on by those she leaves behind: her brother, Herb; sister-in-law, Sheila and Patricia, son, Jerry; daughter-in-law, Tian; and treasured grandchildren, Tony and Vivian. Josie was cherished by a multitude of friends and neighbors who celebrate her life and the indelible mark she leaves on their hearts.
As her soul embraces eternal peace, she is reunited with those she loved deeply, remembered always for her boundless generosity and the joyous light she brought into the world.
