JoNel Luke Lindeen, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born on April 13, 1955, in Jefferson, Louisiana, JoNel lived a life rooted in faith, family, and unconditional love. Affectionately known as "Mama Jo" she touched countless lives with her kindness, strength, and joyful spirit.
JoNel graduated from Archbishop Chapelle High School in 1973 and shared a beautiful life with her husband, Happy, for 35 years. She was a deeply devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always putting her family first and actively participating in every important moment of their lives.
She was also a faithful member of St. Benedict Catholic Church and retired after a dedicated career as an HR Director with Ochsner Hospital, in addition to co-owning U.S. Lawns Northshore.
JoNel's legacy is one of faith, love, generosity, and selfless devotion to her family. She will be remembered for the wisdom she shared, the lives she nurtured, the laughter she brought into every room, and the deep love she had for her husband, her children and grandchildren. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Harold "Happy" Lindeen; her children, Jodie (Danny), Mary, Jay (Karen), Jill (Robbie), and Jessica (Chad); her siblings, Mark (Cindy), Darlene (Steve), (Dayna), and Eric (Michaela); her cherished grandchildren, K, Connor, Joseph, Andrew, Jenna, Maggie, Jack, Luke, Stella, Liam, and Lilah; and four treasured great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon Nelvin Luke and Joyce Luke, and her brother, Jerry Luke.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate JoNel’s life on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Road, Covington, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery in St. Benedict.
